On May 2, 2025, at their annual gala, the Rotary Club of Richmond named the BC Mental Health Foundation as their non-profit of choice, directing proceeds to the Heartwood Centre for Women. Through the generosity of its members, the Rotary Club raised $15,340.81 in support of this vital program.

Heartwood provides integrated treatment for women (19+), including Two-Spirit and gender-diverse individuals across BC, who are living with severe substance use and mental health challenges. The Vancouver-based centre offers 30 inpatient beds and a holistic, trauma-informed approach to care.

The Rotary’s contribution will help fund two key priorities: enhancing the Serenity Room with Indigenous culturally safe furniture and art to create a more welcoming space, and purchasing safety equipment to reduce fall risks for clients with mobility concerns. These improvements will strengthen Heartwood’s commitment to providing a safe, respectful, and culturally sensitive environment for all clients.
